Join the Westport Arts Center for the 6th Westport Artists’ Collective Pop Up Exhibition on Thursday, March 3, from 6 – 8 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.
The exhibition will remain on view through Saturday, March 5.
The festive Westport Artists’ Collective Pop Up shows typically draw crowds of over 300 people and are a lively celebration of local art. Guests can enjoy wine and a delicious variety of toasts and toppings (a tradition of the founding members, the “Toasters”), meet the artists, and purchase the showcased works of art.
The March 3rd Pop Up includes a diverse range of selected artists from the Westport Artists’ Collective including Jeanine Esposito, Susan Fehlinger, MaryEllen Hendricks, Jana Irejio, Michael Kozlowski, Arpad Krizsan, Liz Leggett, Toby Michaels, Nancy Moore, Susan Newbold, Melissa Newman, Guy Philips, Marlene Siff, Lee Walther, and Florence Zolan.
The fifteen artists who exhibited at the September 2015 Pop Up exhibition have selected the fifteen participating artists. In turn, the artists in this Pop Up will each select an artist to exhibit in the September 2016 Pop Up, creating an ongoing cycle of artists selecting artists.
Founding members of the Westport Artists’ Collective include Nina Bentley, Tammy Winser, Jahmane West, Duvian Montoya, Miggs Burroughs, and Helen Klisser During, Westport Arts Center’s Artistic Director Emeritus.
Westport Artists’ Collective member Eric Chiang stated, “Given the big pool of talented artists to select from and the recommendation of the fifteen talented artists whose works were exhibited in the previous show, the Collective Pop Up will always provide an exhibition of high quality and diversified artwork.”
The Collective has grown to include 150 members who have joined forces to discuss, create, and develop dynamic art experiences. It serves as a base for Westport Arts Center’s artists, bringing exciting Pop Up shows and other unique art events to the Arts Center and the greater Fairfield County community.
Attendees of the La Voz de Tres jazz concert at the Westport Arts Center on Sunday, March 6 will have the last opportunity to view the Pop Up exhibition.
